The intro to our rendition of J. B. F. Wright’s 1925 hit “Precious Memories” is a recording from the 1950s of our mawmaw, Virginia Lou, singing “Precious Memories” to an old organ with her mom and siblings in Kirbyville, TX. When we decided to record an album of her favorite hymns, we knew “Precious Memories” had to be a part of it because of her love for the song and the special way we knew we could include her in the album. The 100th anniversary of “Precious Memories” is next year. Between our personal history with the song and the anniversary of it, we knew our debut single off the album “Little Sparrow” had to be “Precious Memories”.
