About The Band:

It’s about 850 miles from Nashville to the small rice farming town in Texas where the roots of the band Virginia Lou were planted. Growing up surrounded by the sounds of George Jones, Alison Krauss, Casting Crowns, Third Day, and many others, music became a defining part of life from an early age.The band’s namesake, Virginia Lou (founding member, Madalyn Rohr’s grandma), had an unforgettable voice and a deep love for both music and her faith. Her influence runs deep — without Virginia Lou, there would simply be no Virginia Lou.

In the fall of 2023, the band began recording an album to honor her legacy, blending her favorite hymns with new original songs. Their debut album, Little Sparrow, captures the heart of her spirit with a rich mix of Bluegrass, Gospel, and Traditional Country sounds.

Produced by Dove Award-winning and Grammy-nominated producer Tommy Collier, the album’s first single, “Precious Memories,” released in September 2024, debuted in the Top 30 of the SCOOPS Faith & Country charts. “Precious Memories” was released under the Avid label, owned by Dove-nominated music publisher and songwriter John Mathis Jr. “Little Sparrow” the title track to their upcoming album released in March of 2025 and debut at #33 on the Gospel Music Association’s New Music Fridays and New In Americana.

Now based in Nashville, TN, Virginia Lou continues to tour across the country, including a recent appearance at The Ark Encounter, one of the largest Christian attractions in the United States. Tickets are available now in select cities for the Joy Nights Tour!
